Test situation

For an optimal test, it was necessary to select content that naturally plays on sound effects to interact with the user.

For this test, we selected the game "Arizona Sunshine" with an HTC Vive.

Once the straps are adjusted and the vest is on, we have the bass at 50% via the control box. It is not necessarily necessary to go beyond 80%, the goal is to avoid the tactile bass from saturating.

The test

We tested the Subpac in virtual reality for over an hour, broken down into 20-minute sessions (with, without and with).

We were quickly impressed by the influence of immersive sounds in a virtual reality situation. Imagine yourself in a shooting situation for example: we feel the full power of the bullets through the body.

The difference is clear: from the first bass felt through the body, you understand that you have a well-designed, high-quality and powerful product for VR on your back.

We were particularly surprised by the ability of the SubPac to transmit the sound interaction of the game through the whole body.

You get used to these new sensations very quickly and we even felt a lack during the test periods when the Subpac was deactivated.

Note that depending on your sensitivity, it is very easy to increase or decrease the power of the Subpac without having to stop the game or the application.

Our opinion

There is no doubt, the SubPac M2 is clearly a real plus in immersion. This portable version of Supbac will be particularly suitable for "roomscale" VR use.

We felt a depth of bass that allows for increased immersion in VR.
